Dowland-Bach was founded in 1974 to meet the need for fail-safe wellhead and flowline protection for the Prudhoe Bay oilfield on the North Slope of Alaska. To date, several thousand of Dowland-Bach's "Wellhead Control Systems" have been installed in extreme locations from the North Slope of Alaska to the jungles of South America.

As technology and the business environment has evolved, so have Dowland-Bach's manufacturing capabilities. Over the last quarter century, Dowland-Bach's equipment package designs have been affected by the petroleum industry's attempt to reduce the size of its production facilities in an effort to reduce capital costs. As a result of this continual miniaturization effort, more and more functionality has to be squeezed into smaller and smaller spaces, while at the same time meeting ever stricter design codes. These factors led Dowland-Bach to begin fabrication of custom hydraulic/pneumatic equipment support structures and enclosures of various sizes and configurations.

As our successes with custom enclosures for hydraulic/pneumatic equipment continued, Dowland-Bach decided to take the next step in the "vertical integration" process by obtaining our UL50 Electrical Enclosure Certification for type 3R and 4X enclosures. This allowed Dowland-Bach to manufacture custom electrical enclosures in a variety of sizes and configurations.

In more recent times, we have expanded our capabilities in the engineering and design field in order to provide a more comprehensive service to our clients. We have a strong staff of mechanical, electrical and control systems engineers in order to maximize the added value provided with our manufactured control systems and equipment. Our capabilities include 3-D modeling, control systems design engineering, systems programming and system testing and startup capabilities. We provide programming services for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems and custom embedded devices.
