The Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) program is regulated by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and includes organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Intertek. The primary objective of the program is to ensure that equipment and products are “safe for use in the U.S. workplace.”
Dowland-Bach is currently authorized by UL and Intertek to apply certain markings, logos, and labels to our products to signify compliance with specific safety standards. Regardless of the listing status of a product, applicable local codes apply and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the ultimate responsibility of accepting and approving an installation.
Our direct listing services are available for certain products built in our shop. For existing installations and field modified equipment, Dowland-Bach can help to coordinate with the NRTL for field labeling services. Our engineers and technicians will prepare documentation packages and help to offset the cost of having the NRTL perform engineering services on-site.
